Mental Health and Wellbeing Afternoons
Developing children to have positive mental and physical wellbeing is vitally important here at St Chad’s. Once a term for an afternoon, children come together in their house groups with children mixed up from Reception up to Year 6. In their house teams, children complete three different fun activities in an afternoon, which are all focused on providing a range of experiences that they can use in the future to support themselves independently. There are a number of different types of activities available to the children, such as:
Yoga
Mindfulness Colouring
Origami
Cookie decorating
Bingo
Dance
Teambuilding games
These afternoons allow adults to model the importance of looking after our mental and physical wellbeing. It also provides children with opportunities to talk, and support their peers from other year groups showing the importance of demonstrating our school values when interacting with each other.
