Digital Literacy

At St. Chad’s, we love to use computing in every area of the curriculum.  With the ever evolving technological world that we live in, it is imperative that children know how to use technology safely.

Children at St Chad’s use the Internet on a regular basis as part of their learning. In school, we have regular digital literacy teaching (at the beginning of every Computing lesson) to remind children of the importance of keeping themselves safe online.

At home, sometimes children can be given unsupervised access to the Internet. This, potentially, allows them to access all kinds of society (both good and bad) and bring them virtually into their homes.

Our Esafety policy explains in more detail the actions we take to ensure all children’s on line safety, sets out our expectations on pupils and offers advice.

Please see our policies page to see the Esafety policy and others, which have more information about how we keep your children safe in school and teach them how to be safe in the digital world.
