The school day
Registers are taken at 8.50am - arrivals after this time will be marked late. School closes at 3pm each day. It is important that children are delivered and collected punctually each day. It is very important that we are told if someone different is collecting your child from school.
Absence from school
If your child is absent from school, you are asked to telephone the school on the first day of absence on 020 8771 3470 and to send a note into school on your child's return. All absences have to be accounted for in our daily registers.
Emergency contacts
It is essential that each family in St Chad's has completed an Emergency Contact form (available from the office). We must be able to contact you if your child is sick in school or if there is an emergency at any time. Please let the school office know if these numbers change - eg: you acquire a new mobile phone.
Medical
Please inform the Head Teacher and your child's class teacher of any medical problems your child has or has had including any allergies. If your child has an existing medical problem you will need to complete a Health Plan for your child - available from the school office.
Nut allergies
There are several children currently attending St Chad's who have potentially fatal nut allergies. We therefore ask all parents to be viligant and refrain from sending any nut products in lunchboxes or in birthday treats. St Chad's is a NUT FREE ZONE.
Dinners
Hot school lunches are provided for any child who wants them. The cost of the school lunches currently is £8.75 per week. St Chad's now runs the ParentPay Scheme. School dinners can be paid for online or with a ParentPay card. Please ask at the office for your login and password or to order a ParentPay card. Children may bring in a packed lunch. We suggest a clearly labelled plastic lunchbox. There are children in the school with severe nut allergies so we ask you not to give your children peanut butter sandwiches or any other nut products in their packed lunch. No sweets are allowed in school but children may have a chocolate biscuit in their packed lunch.
School milk
Milk is available for every child who wants it. This should be ordered direct from 'Cool Milk for Schools Ltd'. Order forms are available from the school office, or you can pay online at www.coolmilk.com.
Toys and sweets
No toys and sweets are allowed in school. Packed lunches may include chocolate biscuits but not sweets. Children are not allowed to bring fizzy drinks to school for lunch. Small cartons of drink are much better. There is always water available. Children are given a free piece of fruit each day to eat at morning break.
Birthdays
Birthdays are very important to young children and we try to acknowledge their birthdays within the class as they occur. At home time, the teachers are willing to share any sweets or treats such as fresh or dried fruit you may wish to send in, but this is not compulsory. Please do not send in birthday cake or drinks.
